1001 Sapling Plantation Campaign At Nripatunga Hill, Gabbur Launched

 People should ignore the use of plastic, First Additional District and Sessions Judge B Parameshwara Prasanna said that the public should take action to protect the environment.  

He was speaking at launching of planting saplings at the new court premises of Vidyanagar on the occasion of World Environment Day, under the joint auspices of Taluk Legal Service Committee, Advocates’ Association, Forest Department and Horticulture Department.

The basic objective of World Environment Day is to create awareness among the public about environmental protection and to prevent environmental degradation. With modernity, man is destroying the environment for his selfishness. Also people’s concern about the environment is decreasing. Today we are using plastic a lot. Plastic should be used only in cases of necessity. He said the authorities should take action to prevent people from dumping waste in lakes, roads and public areas.

MS Banada, President of the Bar Association, said that everyone should take care of the environment like they take care of their health. He said that the attitude of Salumarada Thimmakka of the row tree should be raised in everyone.

On the same occasion, a campaign to plant 1001 saplings was launched in Nripatunga Hill, Gabbur and various other areas. Saplings were also symbolically distributed.

Senior Assistant Horticulture Director Prabhulinga Gadada, Forest Officer Prakash Karaguppi, all honorable judges of Hubli Court, Rajasekhara Thilaganji, Member Secretary of Taluk Legal Service Committee, Forest Department, Horticulture Department staff were present.
