Amidst a gathering of dignitaries, officials, air warriors, parents, and air veterans, the Air Force Technical College hosted a ceremonial Passing out Parade (POP) for the 212/23T/Permanent Commission and Short Service Commission/102 Aeronautical Engineering Course on Saturday.
Air Marshal SP Dharkar congratulated the graduating officers, urging them to prioritize operational readiness. He stressed innovation, staying updated with technology, and enhancing skills to tackle maintenance challenges. Additionally, he highlightedmaintaining physical and mental fitness for optimal task performance and asset reliability.
The parade symbolized the culmination of 74 weeks of rigorous training, with a total of 60 engineering officers, including 20 women officers, graduating from the college.
Air Marshal SP Dharkar, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Eastern Air Command (EAC), IAF, graced the occasion as both the Chief Guest and the Reviewing Officer (RO). Upon his arrival, he was greeted by Air Commodore Ashutosh Shrivastava, Commandant of the college. The event featured a stunning flypast by Dornier aircraft and a skydiving demo by the ‘Air Devils’ team of the IAF. Additionally, the ‘Air Warrior Drill Team’ showcased their impressive skills during the parade.

At the ceremony, Flying Officer Rahul EV was awarded the prestigious ‘Sword of Honour’ by the RO for achieving first place. Flying Officer Nunna Uooha received the ‘President’s Plaque’ for excellence in professional subjects and General Service Training. Also, Flying Officer Ritu Ranjan and Flying Officer Pathivada Hemant Kumar received ‘The Chief of Air Staff Medals’ for excelling in Electronics and Mechanical streams, respectively.
