Man Killed For Land Dispute, Committed By Brother’s Son

In Haleritti village, a tragic incident occurred as a result of a land dispute, leading to the death of a 55-year-old man, Halappa Chakrasali, who was killed by his elder brother’s son, Chandrasekhara Chakrasali, aged 35, who stands accused of murder. The dispute arose between Halappa and Basappa, his elder brother, concerning a row of chili plants encroaching on the land, escalating into a physical altercation. Later that evening, Halappa went to Anna Basappa’s house to discuss the matter further, resulting in another confrontation. Observing the altercation, Chandrasekhara intervened, striking Halappa on the head with a stone, causing him to collapse and suffer profuse bleeding from his head and ears.

Despite being rushed to Hosaritthi village hospital for treatment by Basappa, Chandrasekhara, and others, Halappa succumbed to his injuries en route. After notifying the authorities, the accused were taken into custody by personnel from the Guttala police station. Superintendent of Police Anshukumar, along with other officials, visited the scene and conducted an investigation. A case has been registered at the Guttala Police station.
