In a commemoration of the ideals and legacies of revered leaders, the Buddha, Basava, and Bhima Gramabhivriddhi Trust organized a Jayanti program in the serene environs of Koramangala village, Devanahalli taluk, on Monday.
The event, presided over by State Working President Dasarabidi Murali of the People’s Liberation Movement Equality, served as a platform to reflect upon the timeless wisdom imparted by these iconic figures.
Keynote speaker Mahesh Das, a lawyer, eloquently underscored the teachings of Basavanna, advocating for a life of purposeful labor and equitable distribution of resources. Drawing parallels with the noble endeavors of Jyoti Bapule, who championed education for the oppressed during British rule, Das highlighted the transformative power of education in uplifting marginalized communities.
The struggles endured by Babu Jagjivan Ram and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar to attain education were also acknowledged, with speakers lamenting the prevailing societal inequities that privilege wealth, power, and knowledge. Former President of Koramangala Gram Panchayat, Bhairegowda, urged unity among caste groups, stressing the importance of following the exemplary paths laid down by these visionary leaders to foster social justice and equality.
Godlumuddenahalli Gram Panchayat President Jagadish, Zilla Panchayat Ex-Member Veerappa, and Koramangala Gram Panchayat Members, among others were present.
