Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s aide, Bibhav Kumar, who is accused of assaulting AAP Rajya Sabha member and former DCW chief Swati Maliwal, has sought bail from a local court. The court has issued a notice to Delhi Police for their response, with a hearing scheduled for May 27.

On Friday, the court placed Kumar in four-day judicial custody following the expiration of his five-day police custody, which will last until May 28. Kumar was arrested on May 18 for the alleged assault on Maliwal, which occurred on May 13. He was initially placed in five-day police custody after being presented before a local court late at night.

During his police custody, Kumar was taken to the Chief Minister’s residence, where the crime scene was recreated.
