The Air Force Test Pilots School (AFTPS) in Bengaluru celebrated the graduation of twelve Test Pilots and five Flight Test Engineers from the 46th Flight Test Course on Saturday. Completing the demanding 48-week Flight Test Course, these officers are now equipped to evaluate airborne systems, weapons, and platforms, contributing significantly to India’s aerospace advancement and ‘Atma-Nirbharta’.
General Anil Chauhan, Chief of Defence Staff, presided over the ceremony as the Chief Guest. He mentioned the pivotal role of these officers in the modernization and indigenization of the Indian Armed Forces. Highlighting the importance of professional competence, he lauded the active role test crews could play in the nation’s indigenization drive.
These officers, including representatives from the Indian Navy and Indian Army, join the esteemed ranks of 341 Test Pilots and 152 Flight Test Engineers who have graduated from AFTPS since its inception in 1973.
Squadron Leader Anubhav Berwal was honored with the “Suranjan Das Trophy” for the best all-round student test pilot, while Squadron Leader V Supriya received the “Maharaja Hanumanth Singh Sword” for the best all-round student flight test engineer, recognizing their achievements.
