The deadline for the Assembly and Parishad elections has been fixed, and the lobbying for the MLC seat is intense from the expatriates and original Congressmen. Chief Minister’s son Yathindra, who sacrificed his constituency for his father, is said to be almost certain to enter the upper house. It has been decided to give Yathindra the post of MLC to avoid remaining away from power for another four years. It is said that AICC President Mallikarjuna Kharge and KPCC President DK Shivakumar have agreed to this. Immigrants who have left the BJP and joined the Congress are also fighting fiercely for the MLC post. Tejaswini Gowda has started lobbying for ticket to KP Nanjundi.
