To promote discipline and enhance passenger experience, the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) on Saturday honored drivers and conductors who exemplified professionalism by adhering to complete uniform attire and displaying proper signage and route boards.

Under the BMS East Zone, which operates a total of 8 units, deserving drivers and conductors from each unit were recognized and rewarded with certificates of appreciation and cash prizes during a special event held on Saturday. This initiative was part of BMTC’s month-long celebration of January 2024 as the “Month of Neat & Full Uniform,” highlighting proper attire, including shoes, name badges, and neatly groomed appearance, along with the display of adequate route numbers and details.

A total of 235 staff members were selected out of the 3000 driving staff in the zone based on criteria such as discipline, attendance, courteous behavior with passengers, and adherence to uniform and signage guidelines. Simple programs were organized at various BMTC depots across the zone, including Indiranagar, Koramangala, Electronics City, Chandapur, Huskoor, Gunjur, Sarjapur Road, and Hoodi Depot.

Zonal Divisional Controller. Srinath and Divisional Traffic Officer Purushottam actively participated in the ceremonies held at Indiranagar and Koramangala depots, where they distributed prizes and letters of appreciation. Highlighting the importance of good discipline, attitude, and adherence to schedules, staff members were encouraged to consistently perform their prescribed duties diligently.

Managers and staff members from each depot, including Indiranagar Depot Manager Lakshmi and Koramangala Depot Senior Manager Srinivasa Reddy, were present to support and acknowledge the efforts of the honored employees.

Similar prize distribution ceremonies were conducted in other units, with DME K. Chandu and respective unit managers overseeing the proceedings.
