Rain Forecast In Next 24 Hours In State, Yellow Alert For 11 Districts

Meteorological department has announced yellow alert for 11 districts of the state due to the fall of air pressure in the Arabian Sea. A yellow alert has been issued for the coastal districts of Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and north interior Dharwad, Gadag, Haveri, south interior Chikmagalur, Hassan, Kodagu, Mysore, Shimoga, Tumakuru districts for the next 24 hours.

The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy thundershowers at isolated places in Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Dharwad, Haveri, Shivamogga, Chikkamagaluru, Chitradurga, Mysuru, Tumakuru and Kodagu districts.

Wind will blow at a speed of 40 to 50 km per hour at some places in Bagalkote, Belagavi, Bidar, Dharwad, Gadag, Haveri, Kalaburagi, Koppal, Raichur, Vijayapura, Yadgiri districts. Along with this, the possibility of heavy rain is also high. Rain is going to lash most places of Uttara Kannada, Hassan, Mandya, Davangere districts with thunder. Meteorological Department has informed that there is an increased possibility of moderate rain in most places in Ballari, Bengaluru Rural, Bengaluru City, Chamarajanagar, Chikkaballapur, Kolar, Ramanagara and Vijayanagara districts.

Bengaluru city and surrounding areas will remain mostly cloudy for the next 24 hours. Also there is a chance of light rain. It has informed that the maximum and minimum temperature will be 32 degree and 23 degree.

Southwest Monsoon is over the Maldives and Comoros region on Friday. It still persists in South Bay of Bengal, parts of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Andaman Sea and parts of East Central Bay of Bengal. Dr Rajavel Manikkam, Scientist of Bengaluru Meteorological Center said that due to this, the rain has continued in the state as well.
