Indian Railways has undergone significant technological advancements in recent years, revolutionizing the way people travel across the vast subcontinent, said S Prabhu, Chief Track Engineer, South Western Railways.
Speaking at a programme to mark the National Technology Day celebration organised by the Institution of Engineers (India), Dharwad local centre, he said one of the important achievements is the introduction of high-speed trains, exemplified by projects like the Vande Bharat Express.
 These trains offer unparalleled speed and comfort, reducing travel time between major cities and enhancing overall efficiency, Prabhu said. Stating that Indian Railways has modern reservation technologies to streamline the ticketing process, Prabhu said the implementation of online booking systems, mobile applications has made it easier for passengers to plan and book their journeys.
