In Banashankari of Padmanabhanagar Vidhan Sabha Constituency, 2nd Stage, Deve Gowda Petrol Station Circle, MK Puttalingaiah Road, banners wishing “Happy Birthday Shri Karthik Venkatesh Murthy” were illegally erected on public property, tarnishing the city’s aesthetic appeal. Acting swiftly against this violation, Aveesh H.M, the squad leader from Ply, lodged a complaint at the Banashankari police station on Friday, resulting in the filing of an FIR.
Such acts of unlawfully installing banners on public property are deemed as a breach of the Defacement of Property Act and BBMP Act, warranting legal action. Authorities said that FIRs will be registered against any individual or group found guilty of displaying unauthorized posters or banners within the jurisdiction of BBMP.
Citizens are urged to report instances of illegal banners or displays by providing the location and photographic evidence to the Corporation’s WhatsApp number: 94806 85700.
