Kalaburagi
MP Umesh Jadhav, attending a protest organized by members of the Veerashaiva Lingayat community, fell ill amid a severe scuffle, prompting immediate rescue by local police who transported him to the hospital in an ambulance. Upon the release on bail of the accused in the desecration case of Ambedkar’s statue in Kalaburagi, miscreants pelted stones at his house, leading to condemnation by the Veerashaiva Samaj, who organized a massive protest in Kotanur city. MP Umesh Jadhav attended this protest.
Upon his arrival, protestors became agitated, resulting in pushing and shoving. Despite police attempts to control the situation, MP Umesh Jadhav found himself in a difficult position, leading to a collapse of his blood pressure. He was found lying on the road, under the scorching sun, and was promptly rescued by the police, then admitted to the nearby GIMS Hospital.
Even with MP Umesh Jadhav hospitalized, the protest continued under the leadership of former MLA Dattatreya Patil Revoor and BJP City President Chandu Patil. Despite the enforcement of the Lok Sabha Election Code of Conduct, the police struggled to contain the large-scale protests.
MP Dr. Umesh Jadhav, addressing the media before attending the protest site, responded to a statement by Raju Kage regarding potential Prime Minister candidates within the BJP. He questioned whether there was a PM candidate among them, emphasizing the need for action when the time comes.
