The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has registered a case against two district collectors in Dudu, Rajasthan, for demanding a bribe of Rs 25 lakh to change the land-use pattern. The collectors, identified as Hanuman Mal Dhaka and Hansraj Halka Patwari, faced charges under the Prevention of Corruption Act.

The case was filed after searches were conducted at their residences, a post office, and a tehsil office in Dudu. These searches were carried out under the direction of Surendra Singh, Additional Superintendent of Police, and Dr. Ravi, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Anti-Corruption Bureau.

According to the ACB’s official statement, the searches were prompted by a complaint in which the complainant alleged that the two officials demanded a bribe for converting 203 bighas of land registered to his firm. The land fell within the Khasre Pond/Pal area, necessitating conversion for other uses.

The complaint stated that the district collector harassed the complainant’s family, initially demanding Rs 25 lakh. The bribe amount was later negotiated to Rs 21 lakh, and finally settled at Rs 15 lakh, with half of this amount (Rs 7.5 lakh) to be handed over at the collector’s dak bungalow. The complainant also indicated he had a recording of the collector’s demand.
