Minister ST Somashekar, MP Pratham Simha have expressed their condolences for the death of senior journalist, Editor of Sadvi newspaper.
He was the editor of century old Sadvi kannada evening newspaper since 1995. The newspaper had played a vital role during independence struggle and unification of Karnataka. After Agaram Rangaiah, Maheshwaran had led the newspaper with more responsibility.
He had fought against drug abuse. He has written several books to raise awareness of the ill effects of drugs for the younger generation. The state government honored him with the Rajyotsava Award in 2020 for his contributions to the field of journalism and the social sector.
Maheshwaran's death has caused unbearable loss to the Kannada media, said the minister and MP in a statement.
