The Police have cracked a theft case in Shirahatti four months after the incident. It has come to light that Vijay Kalli, nephew of Ashok Palled had stolen cash and jewellery from his house to spend at a casino in Goa. Superintendent of Police BS Nemagouda said that Shiragatti Police arrested Vijay Kalli and Ravi Barikai. A house theft case was registered at Shirahatti Police station on December 6.

Miscreants had stolen cash of Rs. 5 lakh and 240 gram of jewelery from the house of Palled in Magadi village. This had happened when Palled family members were in hospital to see their boy who had met with an accident, he said.

Shirahatti Police said that a team, including Circle Inspector of Police Nagaraj Madalli, Police Sub-Inspector Shivanand, constables Hanumant Doddamani, Channabasava and Somu were formed to trace the miscreants.  When we visited Palled’s house, we realised that theft was carried out by a person, who was well aware of the family, they said. They added that we had kept a vigil on Palled’s close relatives and got a hint that his nephew Kalli was spending too much.
