In a recent statement, Congress Chief Mallikarjun Kharge emphasized that the main concern in the Lok Sabha elections is the widespread unemployment created by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He highlighted that PM Modi’s promise of generating 2 crore jobs is haunting the youth rather than offering hope.

Kharge took to social media to express his views, stating, the predominant issue in these elections is unemployment, brought about by the BJP. Our youth are facing challenges in securing employment, leading to a looming demographic crisis.

He drew attention to the plight of students in prestigious institutions like IITs and IIMs, where a significant portion of graduates struggles to find placements. Kharge criticized the BJP for failing to provide adequate opportunities for youth employment, citing a drastic increase in youth unemployment under Modi’s governance.

Kharge contrasted Congress’s manifesto, ‘Nyay Patra’, which pledges 25 assurances if elected, with what he called the BJP’s track record of unfulfilled promises. He questioned the credibility of Modi’s guarantee of creating 2 crore jobs annually, challenging the government’s failure to deliver on its commitments. Additionally, the Congress manifesto promises support to farmers by implementing the minimum support price (MSP) as recommended by the Swaminathan Commission report.
