A private bus, bound for Gokarna from Bengaluru, overturned near Holalkere town on Sunday morning, resulting in the loss of four lives, authorities confirmed. The incident occurred close to Anjaneya Temple on the outskirts of Holalkere Town, sending shockwaves through the community.
With around 30 individuals sustaining injuries in the crash, the severity of the situation escalated as eight among them were identified to be in critical condition. Swift action was taken as emergency responders rushed the injured to Holalkere Taluk Hospital for urgent medical attention, while the bodies of the deceased were solemnly transported to a local mortuary for further proceedings.
Amidst the grief and turmoil, local residents expressed frustration and anger, attributing the recurring accidents along this stretch of road to what they perceive as deficiencies in the design and maintenance of the roadway infrastructure.
