An FIR has been lodged against Congress MLA A C Srinivas from the Pulakeshi Nagar assembly constituency and his supporters for purportedly breaching the model code of conduct for the Lok Sabha elections and impeding the duties of the video surveillance team. The complaint, filed by the nodal officer overseeing the model code of conduct, led to the registration of the FIR at Pulikeshi Nagar police station.
The incident unfolded during a meeting held at the office of MLA A C Srinivas on Tuesday afternoon, conducted without prior permission from the returning officer. Upon the arrival of the nodal officer and the video surveillance team, inquiries were made regarding the nature of the gathering, to which it was explained that the meeting aimed to address local water-related issues.
However, tensions escalated when supporters of the MLA contested the videographer’s legitimacy, alleging the absence of an ID card. Subsequently, they forcibly confiscated the camera and compelled the videographer to erase the recorded footage.
