Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s apprehension about potential defeat in the Lok Sabha elections was criticized by BJP candidate and former CM Basavaraj Bommai. Addressing a gathering in Madlur of Hirekerur taluk, Bommai highlighted Siddaramaiah’s expressed insecurity regarding the election outcome, interpreting it as indicative of the Congress party’s declining prospects.
Responding to Congress’s accusation of Amit Shah campaigning without providing drought relief, Bommai countered, stating that the central government had already disbursed two phases of relief from the National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF). He asserted that out of the allocated Rs 680 crore, Rs 2,000 had been distributed to farmers, criticizing Siddaramaiah for questioning Amit Shah’s actions.
Expressing confidence in BJP’s electoral performance, Bommai projected victory in over 400 constituencies, foreseeing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s re-election. On the matter of former Deputy CM KS Eshwarappa’s response to Amit Shah’s persuasion, Bommai remarked that the electorate would provide an answer, higlighting the resilience of political figures in the face of electoral challenges.
