Udupi
A boat named named Divya Shakti from Kadekar Padukere in Udupi with seven fishermen on board has capsized in deep sea at Ratnagiri in Maharashtra. All the fishermen on board have been rescued.
The boat is owned by Bhagavandas Kotian and had left Malpe port for deep sea fishing on April 10. The mishap occurred on April 13 night after a hard object hit the bottom of the boat resulting in water gushing inside the boat.
Those in boats Neeladri and Suvarna Chaya which were nearby immediately helped the fishermen in distress. The boat later submerged in the waters.
A complaint regarding the boat capsize was registered in Malpe coastal Security Police on April 17.
All the rescued fishermen have reached Malpe.
