Persons trying to create split in society, devastating loss of life and damages to property must be punished, said speaker of Legislative Council Basavaraj Horatti,
He was responding to the old Hubli riot. Hubli has been very calm so far, let it come to everyone’s mind that decency should not be lost, he said.
"I have already spoken with the Commissioner of Police and requested to take stringent action against those who have done wrong. I have also told them to maintain strict and law order,” he said.
The Commissioner has informed that suitable police personnel have been deployed to avoid any undue instances. The government must be vigilant and avoid any occurring such instances in future, he said.
