Yashasvi Jaiswal, India’s rising cricket star, clinched the ICC ‘Player of the Month’ for February, following a stellar performance in the Test series against England. The 22-year-old left-handed batsman amassed a remarkable 712 runs in five matches, setting a new record for the highest aggregate by an Indian against England in a Test series.

Jaiswal’s exceptional run included two double centuries and three half-centuries, contributing significantly to India’s 4-1 series victory. Expressing his delight, Jaiswal described the achievement as one of the best moments of his career, highlighting the camaraderie with his teammates.

His outstanding performance didn’t stop there. Jaiswal equaled the long-standing Test record for the most sixes in a Test innings with 12, a feat he achieved during his double ton in Rajkot. His back-to-back double hundreds at the age of 22 years and 49 days placed him in elite company alongside legends like Sir Donald Bradman and Vinod Kambli.

Jaiswal’s dominance continued into March as he reached the milestone of 1000 Test runs, becoming the second-quickest Indian to achieve this feat. His exceptional form earned him the ICC award, beating competition from renowned players like Kane Williamson and Pathum Nissanka. Jaiswal’s remarkable rise suggests he could be one of the finest Test openers in the world.
