In preparation for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the Congress party has instructed states under its governance and affiliated organizations to promote the party’s five guarantees for a new ‘Rozgar Revolution.’ These guarantees were introduced by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and party chief Mallikarjun Kharge. The Congress pledges an annual job package of Rs 1 lakh for diploma holders under 25, vows to enact stringent laws against paper leaks, commits to establishing social security measures in the gig economy, promises to fill 30 lakh government job vacancies, and proposes ‘Yuva Roshni’ to foster startups among individuals below 40.

The first guarantee, ‘Bharti Bharosa,’ assures recruitment trust by filling all 30 lakh vacancies in the Central Government. The party also promises to create new jobs as outlined in their manifesto. Under the ‘Pehli naukri pakki’ initiative, Congress ensures apprenticeship training for diploma or degree holders under 25 in the government or private sector, guaranteeing a one-year apprenticeship with a stipend of Rs 8,500 per month. To address paper leaks, Congress pledges new laws to uphold integrity in public examinations, safeguarding the future of millions of youth. Congress plans to establish a Rs. 5,000 crore corpus for ‘Yuva Roshni,’ offering startup funding for youth below 40 across all districts. Additionally, Congress vows to introduce legislation for better working conditions and social security in the gig economy, acknowledging the challenges faced by gig workers. The party’s manifesto committee, led by former Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram, presented a draft manifesto to party President Mallikarjun Kharge. The Lok Sabha polls are scheduled for April-May this year.
