Dharamshala
The Central Tibetan Administration’s Security Department has been assigned to investigate a recent threat against the Dalai Lama. A person of alleged Tibetan origin posted a video on social media, threatening to kill the Dalai Lama. This issue was discussed in a recent session of the Tibetan Parliament in exile, held in Dharamshala.
Dorjee Tseten, a member of the Tibetan Parliament, condemned the threat and expressed concern among parliament members. The Security Department was directed to conduct a thorough investigation, and the responsible person must be held accountable under the law. It was noted that the individual is not currently residing in India and may be located in Europe or Australia. The investigation aims to uncover the motive behind the threat, but officials assured that there is no immediate security threat to the Dalai Lama.
Lhagyari Namgyal Dolkar, another MP, expressed disappointment over the situation but emphasized trust in the security provided by the Indian government. Concerns were raised about external influences attempting to create unrest within the Tibetan community. Despite the threat, confidence was expressed that the Dalai Lama would continue to spread his message of love and peace worldwide. Immediate attention is being given to ensure the safety of the Dalai Lama and the Tibetan community.
