Yemen’s Houthi defence minister has stated that attacks against Israel will continue. In a televised message, Defence Minister Mohammed Nasser al-Atifi emphasized that strikes will persist until aggression against Gaza ceases. He warned that any attack on Houthi territory or their allies will be met with a strong response.
Al-Atifi mentioned that Israel is ‘now in the range of our fire.’ Earlier this week, the Houthi group claimed responsibility for a missile attack in Tel Aviv. Since November of last year, missile and drone attacks have been launched by the Houthi group, targeting what they described as ‘Israeli-linked’ ships in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden, as well as locations in Israel. These actions are framed as expressions of solidarity with the Palestinians in Gaza. The minister’s statements highlight the ongoing tensions in the region and the Houthi group’s commitment to their military objectives.
