A tragic incident unfolded near Nelamangala as a visually impaired couple lost their lives in a road collision while attempting to cross National Highway 75 near Yantaganahalli village in Nelamangala taluk.
The victims, identified as Sridhar (52) and Archana (35), were on their way to catch a bus to Bengaluru to meet a friend. Sridhar, was employed at a school near Magadi, and Archana met their fate when a speeding bike, was ridden by Ajit Naik (45), collided with them. While Sridhar and Archana succumbed to their injuries, Naik sustained serious wounds and is receiving treatment at a nearby private hospital. The incident prompted an investigation by Nelamangala Sanchari Police, highlighting the dangers of unsecured road crossings despite prior traffic control measures.
