At 25, Anil John Sequeira From Bantwal Becomes A Civil Judge

Anil John Sequeira, hailing from Borimar village of Bantwal taluk here, has been selected to the post of Civil Judge by direct recruitment in accordance with the Karnataka Judicial Services (Recruitment) Rules, at the young age of 25. He is one among the 33 candidates selected as suitable for the post of civil judges, in the order of merit, prepared on the basis of marks secured in the competitive written examination held during Nov 2023 and viva-voce, according to a notification   from the Registrar General and Secretary, Civil Judges Recruitment Committee, High Court of Karnataka.
Anil, an LLB graduate from SDM Law College, told that his father wanted him to be a judge, and so was his aim to get to that coveted post. His father Everest Sequeira, is an agriculturist and mother Ivy Sequeira, a homemaker. He is the youngest of the three children of the couple after his brother Ashwin and sister Ashna. Anil said he is the second person from Borimar to get to the post after Manohar Poojari.
An active member of the Mangalore Bar Association, where he has been practising as a civil lawyer alongside legal professionals Deepak D’Souza and Naveen S Pais, he was also an active Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) member, where he served as the ICYM President of Mangalore Diocese in 2022.
