The Registration (Amendment) Bill was passed in the Legislative Assembly today. Thus, registration based on paper account has been canceled and henceforth e-property registration has been made mandatory. Registration will be done automatically in Kaveri software only if the account is checked as a check against the data base of the city council. No more paper account based registration. The law has been amended to curb illegal registration. The amendment bill was passed as a budget announcement.
E-registration of selected documents to be compulsorily registered will be done without two parties in the office of the Sub-Registrar. The Finance Department had objected to the loss to the government due to the paper account based registration.
