Love At First Fumble: A T’wood Romance Of Varun Sandesh & Vithika That Tripped Over Destin

Varun Sandesh and Vithika Sheru’s love story has all the makings of a Tollywood romance. Their paths had crossed long before they acted together in Paddanandi Premalo Mari. I first saw Varun when I was in 7th grade, on my way to tuition. He was standing outside director Srikanth Addala’s house he was a heartthrob already, riding on the success of Happy Days. I was so thrilled to see him I rushed home to share the news with my family, gushing about how cute he looked, recalls Vithika. Varun adds, I first saw Vithika at a dance class with Raghu master. I happened to be there for a song rehearsal.
It took them three months to break the ice and develop a genuine friendship. Our interactions were strictly professional during shoots, Varun recalls. But one scene changed everything. While trying to sweep Vithika off her feet, literally, for a romantic sequence, Varun tripped and sent her tumbling. She ended up in the hospital and the shoot got cancelled. My apology text, though awkward sparked an unexpected friendship, he adds. As the shoot neared its end, Varun and Vithika’s romance blossomed. Our time in Malaysia for a song shoot seemed to ignite something, Vithika shares adding after coming to Hyderabad, we went for a date officially as a couple at a hotel by the pool and spent time conversing till 5 am and attended the shoot as if nothing was happening between us. In a surprising twist, Vithika took charge in their love story.
