120 Kg Ganja Seized, Two Arrested

The CCB sleuths arrested two persons and seized 120 kg Ganja that was being transported from Odisha to Mangaluru and Kerala, at Pilikoor in Talapady village in Ullal taluk. The arrested are MS Anoop (28) from Wayanad and KV Latheef (36) from Iritty taluk in Kannur of Kerala.
City Police Commissioner Anupam Agrawal said that, the value of the seized ganja is Rs 28 lakh.
The Police have also recovered three mobile phones, Rs 4,020 cash and a jeep. The value of the total property seized is Rs 35.1 lakh.
The Commissioner said that a case has been registered at ‘
Cyber Economic and Narcotics Crime Police Station’ (CEN) station. The accused was planning to sell it to the public in Karnataka and Kerala. The arrested were produced before the Court who in turn remanded them in Police custody, he said.
Of the arrested, Anoop has a dacoity case against him at Nanjangud in Mysuru in 2018. There are N
arcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) cases against him in Wayanad; two dacoity cases, one assault case at Kalpetta police station and two theft cases at Ambalavayal Police station. A team led by CCB Inspector HM Shyam Sundar and others detected the drug peddling case.
