Speaking at the inauguration of the 2024 Mega Agriculture Expo organized at the Agricultural Science Center in Baramati, Maharashtra, Agriculture Minister N Chaluvarayaswamy said, when Sharad Pawar was the Union Agriculture Minister, he was a Mahatma who did many development works for the department and farmers. He was responsible for the development of more than 700 agricultural science centers across the country.
Sharad Pawar is credited with the achievements in agricultural science centers and agricultural production during his tenure.
30 years ago Baramati was a barren land and a drought prone area. Today, it has seen the highest development in the field of agriculture due to the efforts of Sharad Pawar and the research and cooperation of the Agricultural Science Center here. As a proof of this, the International Grape Conference has been organised here.
In 1992, Agricultural Science Center and Institute of Biotech and Abiotic Science Management, which is the pride was started in Baramati. Also, there is the effort of Sharad Pawar to start ICAR-KVK in Mattikoppa, Belgaum district of Karnataka. The Karnataka government will give hearty congratulations to the fact that the inauguration of this building was done by Sharad Pawar.
