It is a sad fact that doctors of Indian systems of medicine are being portrayed as fake doctors in the media. In recent times, some print media and visual media are presenting the issue of inspection of medical institutions under KPMC and giving notice to doctors for some deficiencies under the title of attack on fake doctor’s clinic. But in reality that is far from the truth, National Integrated Medical Association (NIMA) President Dr Siddappa Magari said.
He was speaking at a Press Conference.
Practitioners of Indian systems of medicine have a five and half year degree from a recognized university and are registered under KPME to practice medicine. Deciding the syllabus and degree outline for all degrees in Indian Medical Systems such as BAMS, BUMS and BSMS.
NCIMCM, Delhi has made it a degree principal recognised by all universities across India. An Indian state has issued a charter that prescribes what and how practitioners of Indian systems of medicine should conduct their medical profession. Â These doctors are licensed to treat only based on the curriculum they have learned under their degrees and the training they have received.
Already NIMA have submitted a request to Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot and State Health Minister Dinesh Gundurao. We have requested the government to pay attention to this and give recognition to Ayush doctors.
At the press conference NIMAÂ Legal Consultants MB Gururaj, NIMA Office bearers Dr. Babu Menont, Shivakumar Palabhamat and others were present.
