The government has announced a minimum support price of Rs.12,000 per quintal for the minimum support scheme during 2024, M Krishnakumar, Joint Director, Department of Food and Civil Supplies said .
The district task force committee held a meeting regarding direct purchase of lump coconut from the farmers in the Deputy Commissioner’s conference hall.
According to the government order, quality lump coconut will be purchased directly from the farmers by the Karnataka Government Co-operative Marketing Federation. A total of 4 registration centers including KR Pete-1, Pandavapura-1 and Nagamangala-2 will be set up. A total of 2 purchase centers will be opened, he said.Recruit necessary staff for registration and purchase, make necessary basic arrangements in purchase centers. He said to provide electronic weighing machine, table and chairs to the purchase center.
Joint Director of Agriculture Department Ashok, APMC Secretary Revathi, Assistant Director of Food Department Srinivas, Correspondent SH Nirmala and others were present in the meeting.
