Air Force Race Cup was instituted by the Indian Air Force to commemorate the Silver Jubilee Celebration of No. 2 Air Force Selection Board, Mysuru in the year 1987 and is conducted at Mysuru Race Club. The Air Force Race Cup 2024 was conducted on 17 Jan 24. Air Marshal B Manikantan AVSM VM, AOC- in- C Southern Air Command was the Chief Guest for the event. The Air Marshal visited Air Force Selection Board Mysuru on 16 Jan 24. He was received by Air Commodore Lalit Kumar Jain, President of the Board. On 17 Jan 24, the races of the day commenced at 1400 h at Mysuru Race Club. Several races were conducted with each race after time gap of 30 minutes. On his arrival to the venue, the Air Marshal interacted with Committee members of Mysuru Race Club and other guests. He witnessed various horse races including the ‘Air Force Race’ of Air Force Cup 2024, the last race of the day which commenced at 1600 h. During the felicitation ceremony, he presented Air Force Cup 2024 and congratulated the owner of the winning horse and trophies to the Jockey and the trainer. During his address to the gathering he appreciated the various facilities available at MRC and lauded the efforts put in by the staff to conduct the event in utmost professional manner and thanked all the members of the Mysuru Race Club for the arrangements and cooperation. He also interacted with the Armed Forces Veterans from all the three services of Mysuru region.
