The patients of the government hospital in Gangavati of the district has attracted the attention of the state by providing tens of facilities including free treatment to the patients in the standard of private multispecialty hospitals, were given a special sweet meal on the occasion of Makara Sankranti. This arrangement was made with the intention that the patients and their family members who are being treated in the hospital for the relief of various diseases should not be deprived of the celebration of the festival.
Food supplier Virupakshappa Kumbara, who has been providing quality food to the patients of the Government sub-division and women and children’s hospital for many years, arranges special food for the patients on special occasions like festivals. They are trying to make the patients happy by serving different dishes throughout the year like New Year, Sankranti, Ugadi, Republic Day, Independence Day, Diwali, Dasara and Kannada Rajyotsava.Most of the government hospitals are serving food only to patients. There is an allegation that even though food is given to the staff of the hospital, the patients and the staff are also given different quality food. But this discrimination is not allowed in this Hospital. Ishwara Savudi, the Administrative Medical Officer has taken special care in this regard He has given instructions that the food given to the patients should be of good quality. Thus, the daily breakfast, lunch and dinner provided to the patients in the sub-department and the Women’s and Children’s Hospital are also provided to the doctors and staff of the hospital. Doctors and staff also eat the same quality food that is given to the patients.
