Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann expressed that fostering a sports culture stands as a potent tool in the fight against drugs. Speaking at an event where Rs 33.83 crore was distributed to 168 medal-winning players from Asian and national games, the Chief Minister emphasized the positive impact of sports promotion. Mann highlighted that the boundless energy of the youth finds a constructive outlet through sports, preventing their engagement with drugs. He asserted that youth actively involved in sports dedicate their efforts to excel in their respective fields, leaving no time for drug-related activities. The Chief Minister envisioned that this approach would contribute significantly to eradicating the drug menace and engaging the youth as equal partners in the state’s socio-economic development. Mann assured that the government allocates funds judiciously for state progress and citizen welfare. He emphasized the effective prevention of public money pilferage, redirecting those resources toward the common man’s welfare. Underscoring the government’s sole objective of ensuring progress and prosperity, Mann congratulated the players for their remarkable achievements. He considered the event a historic day, marking a dream realization as celebrations of happiness occur throughout the state.
