Hapoel Tel Aviv, the Israeli basketball club, announced the signing of American swingman Dezmine Wells on Monday. The 31-year-old player, known for his versatility as a shooting guard and small forward, brings a wealth of experience to the team. Dezmine Wells has spent the last few years showcasing his skills in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA), playing for various clubs such as Zhejiang Lions, Jiangsu Dragons, Qingdao Eagles, and Jilin Northeast Tigers. During his time in the CBA, Wells consistently delivered impressive performances, averaging over 30 points per game in his first three seasons. Before his stint in China, Wells also had a presence in European basketball, playing for Greek side Doxa Lefkadas and Italian clubs Scandone Avellino and VL Pesaro between 2016 and 2019. His return to Israel marks a new chapter in his career. Hapoel Tel Aviv’s head coach, Danny Franco, expressed his satisfaction with the acquisition, stating, I’m happy that we were able to motivate a good player like Dez to join us. I believe that despite many injuries that we suffer, we will know how to continue to succeed. Currently, Hapoel holds a strong position in both the EuroCup and the Israeli Super League, making Wells’ addition a strategic move to enhance the team’s performance.
