The 131st birth anniversary of the architect of Indian constitution Dr B R Ambedkar was celebrated at a function held at Ambedkar Bhavan here on April 14, Thursday. Dakshina Kannada District in-charge Minister and State Minister for Culture and Energy V Sunil Kumar inaugurated the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, he said the state government was striving to implement various schemes for the welfar of the Dalits and the backward classes.
Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, MLAs Dr Bharath Shetty, Vedavyas Kamath, Mayor Premananda Shetty, Deputy Commissioner Dr K V Rajendra, City Police Commissioner N Shashi Kumar< SP Rishikesh Sonavane, ZP CEO Kumar, MCC Commissioner Akshy Sridhar and others were present.
