In a deeply unfortunate turn of events on Tuesday, December 19, a city bus driver, identified as Jagadish (39), took his own life by jumping into the Arabian Sea at Someshwar beach. Jagadish, the son of Venkappa Shetty and a resident of Kondana Belaringe, was employed as a driver on the Mahesh bus route 43. The distressing incident unfolded at Rudrapaade, where Jagadish made the fateful decision to end his life. Prior to entering the sea, he meticulously placed the keys to his bike and his wallet, which contained chits of pledged gold and evidence of money transfers to bank accounts, inside a towel. Additionally, he removed his footwear, suggesting a premeditated act. Jagadish, who was unmarried, leaves behind grieving parents and two brothers. His father is currently unwell and admitted to a private hospital in Deralakatte, adding another layer of sorrow to this tragic incident. The community mourns the loss of a life, and support is extended to Jagadish’s family during this difficult time.
