Revenue Minister Krishna Bhairegowda said that 2,73,778 acres of government land has been cleared from encroachment across the state and the encroachment clearance operation will be in progress across the state.
He answered to a dot identification question raised by Member Dr YA Thippeswamy.
There is a total of 63,32,486 acres/gunte of government land across the state, of which 14,72,493 acres/gunte of government land is encroached upon. Apart from the cases pending in various courts, a total of 10,82,752 acres/hunte of land used for illegal planning and public purposes, 3,89,741 acres/hunte of land has to be cleared from encroachment, of which 2,73,778 acres/hunte of government land has been forcibly cleared. He said that the remaining 1,15,963 acres/hunte of land is pending to be cleared of encroachment.
