Former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda has made it clear that he will not contest the Lok Sabha elections this time.  He  made the remarks at Sriramadevarakatte in Holenarasipura taluk of the district.

In 2019, Prajwal Revanna was decided as the Lok Sabha candidate by all the MLAs and former MLAs. He won with a lead of one lakh. The Congress and the JD(S) now have only one Lok Sabha member. We have decided to fight the Lok Sabha elections together against the Congress. Prajwal is a sitting member and there are youngsters. Our party President HD Kumaraswamy will hold discussions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Amit Shah.

There is no confusion about the Hassan candidate, there is only one sitting MP, let’s see which other seats are given up. HD Deve Gowda officially announced Prajwal Revanna as the Hassan Lok Sabha candidate.

Amit Shah and Kumaraswamy spoke in the first phase. There are Vijayendra, Ashok and Yediyurappa locally and Kumaraswamy will take a decision in consultation with them. I will not contest the Lok Sabha elections this time, just don’t be confused. He also clarified that he has two more years to go for the Rajya Sabha membership.
