On Wednesday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah declared that no one could stop the Central Government from putting the Citizenship (Amendment) Act into effect.

The BJP leader attacked the Mamata Banerjee-led West Bengal government during a massive public rally here, accusing it of engaging in appeasement politics. He also urged voters to support the BJP government in the upcoming assembly elections.

Shah stated in his speech that the Central Administration, led by Narendra Modi, will enforce the CAA at all costs since it is the nation’s legal code. Amit Shah stated, the Citizenship (Amendment) Act is the nation’s law; nobody can stop it, and we will implement it.

The Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019 seeks to expedite the awarding of citizenship to individuals from Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan who entered India on or before December 31, 2014 and who belong to the Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi, or Christian communities.

On December 12, the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019 was notified, and on January 10, 2020, it went into effect.

The union minister claimed that West Bengal has been destroyed by chief minister Mamata Banerjee, citing political violence, corruption, and appeasement in the state. The Union home minister went on to say that in the 2026 assembly elections, the people of the state will exact revenge for the political assassination of the BJP leaders. Shah further claimed that PM Modi’s large donations of cash to the Bengali poor are blocked by the Trinamool syndicate. Shah went on to enumerate the accomplishments of the BJP government at the federal level and claimed that Mamata Banerjee’s actions have kept West Bengal behind in terms of development.
