The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) candidate Kaushik Reddy is alleged to have threatened voters that if he and his family were defeated, he would commit suicide. The Election Commission has requested a report on this matter.

The Huzurabad constituency’s returning officer in the Karimnagar district was instructed by the Election Commission to carry out an investigation and provide a report. BRS candidate P. Kaushik Reddy had stated at an election rally on Tuesday, the final day of the campaign, that if he wins, there will be a victory procession, and if he loses, there will be a funeral procession on December 4.

Kaushik Reddy told the crowd that they could choose to watch him end his life by hanging, with his wife and daughter standing by his side. In the election on November 30, Kaushik Reddy, a member of the Telangana Legislative Council, pleaded with voters to give him a chance by choosing him to represent them in the Assembly. In the race against Eatala Rajender, a former minister and current MLA for the BJP, and Vodithala Pranav, a candidate for the Congress, is Kaushik Reddy. In the 2018 elections, Kaushik Reddy lost to Rajender, the candidate of the Congress party, in the same constituency. Rajender went on to win on a TRS (now BRS) ticket.
