Akhil Karnataka Maaji Sainikara Sangha (AKMSS), an ex servicemen’s organisation, along with people of Sainik Nagar of Laxmitek,  staged a protest on the premises of Deputy Commissioner’s office, urging to take immediate action to rectify the situation as a government employee has been obstructing the road traffic at the military premises.

The AKMSS activists along with the residents of Sainik nagar took out a protest march from Chennamma Circle to Deputy Commissioner’s office and submitted a memorandum.
According to protesters, Santosh Shiragavi, a state government employee of Taluk Magistrate’s office who resides near Sainik Nagar is building a fast food shop near the military compound. Due to this, civil traffic in the area is facing inconvenience. When the military superiors came to inquire about this, the government employee allegedly misbehaved with them. Due to this, the military authorities have issued an order to close the door between the Sainik Nagar and the military compound.
Now, the residents of Sainik Nagar are facing problems due to the closure of the main gate between Sainik Nagar and the military premises, they said in the memorandum submitted to the Commissioner.

They said about 500 families living in Sainik Nagar are suffering due to the families of Santosh Shiragavi and one Nikhil Patil. These families own 6 dogs which defecate in front of residential houses on military premises.   In order to avoid this, an inquiry should be conducted and the soldiers’ families should be facilitated to live comfortably, they urged.

Reacting to the allegations against him, government employee Santosh Shiragavi told  that he is staying in Sainik Nagar as it is his ancestral property and he is not disturbing anyone. We have prepared to present an argument in the Court about this, he said.
