2 Lashkar-E-Taiba Terror Associates Arrested In J-K’s Srinagar

In the Srinagar district of Jammu and Kashmir, two terrorist associates of the Pakistan-based, internationally outlawed terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) were taken into custody, and weapons and ammunition were found in their possession, police reported on Wednesday.

Officials claim that on November 21, the terror associates were taken into custody.

Mumtaz Ahmad Lone and Jahangir Ahmad Lone, two terrorist associates who live in Trehgam, Kupwara, were apprehended immediately and a large cache of weapons and ammunition, including two pistols, four magazines, two filler magazines, and eight grenades, was found in their possession, according to a statement.

After receiving information on Tuesday regarding the movement of alleged terrorists along the National Highway bypass, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Srinagar Police jointly established a strong checkpoint near the Sham Lal gas pump in N R Colony at the NHW bypass. A white Santro car with a J-K registration number that was traveling from Parimpora to Tengpora attempted to drive away during naka checking, they claimed, after spotting the police party at the checkpoint.

Following their apprehension, the Batamaloo police station has opened a case in accordance with pertinent provisions of the Explosive Act, the Arms Act, and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention Act) (UAPA). Investigation has been started into the case, police added in their statement.
