A seven-feet-long crocodile found wandering in Uttar Pradesh’s Firozabad district was successfully rescued through the joint efforts of Wildlife SOS and the forest department. The crocodile, which had ventured from a canal into a field in Jasrana town, caused panic among residents who promptly sought help from the police, leading to the involvement of the forest department. A skilled team from Wildlife SOS successfully caged the crocodile, and after a thorough medical examination revealed the reptile to be in good health, it was released back into its natural habitat. Ashish Kumar, Range Forest Officer in Jasrana, acknowledged the success of the rescue mission, attributing it to the effective collaboration between the NGO’s skilled team and the forest department. Kartick Satyanarayan, co-founder and CEO of Wildlife SOS, emphasized the importance of community involvement and coordination in wildlife conservation, highlighting this collaborative effort. Officials noted that this incident underscores the necessity for proactive measures to address human-crocodile conflicts and promote peaceful coexistence between communities and wildlife.
