The State Industries and Commerce Department is organizing the India International Trade Fair 2023 in New Delhi. Delhi Special Representative TB Jayachandra announced that a shopping building complex with 50 stalls will be constructed in Delhi soon on the lines of the Karnataka Pavilion built temporarily at Pragati Maidan.
Speaking after inaugurating the Karnataka Pavilion at the India International Trade Fair 2023 organised at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi today, he said that 50 stalls will be permanently constructed in Delhi for the exhibition and sale of Karnataka handicrafts. This will give a boost to the cottage industry in Karnataka, he added.
Later, Jayachandra visited more than 40 stalls in the Karnataka Pavilion. Rural cottage industries items from 31 districts of the state, Channapatna dolls, KSIC Mysore silk sarees, millets, decorative items made of wood, products made by coconut and fibre development board, leather products, ayurvedic medicines, various kinds of snacks and other products manufactured in Karnataka were seen and encouraged the vendors. On this occasion, Karnataka Bhavan Resident Commissioner ME Kongla Jamir and others were present.
