The City Junction Railway Station has been equipped with a high-pressure quick watering facility, significantly enhancing the efficiency of en-route train watering. Earlier, the process of providing water to passing trains at Junction Station used to take approximately 15 to 20 minutes, despite the trains having only 8 to 10 minutes of scheduled stoppage time.
This resulted in numerous complaints about the unavailability of water on the trains.
To address the delayed watering issue, Research and Design Standards Organisation, Centre for Advanced Maintenance Technology, Gwalior unit, introduced the Quick Watering System, which was installed and put into operation. This innovative system employs six-inch pipes, instead of the traditional four-inch ones, high-powered motors, and a computerised system known as Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition to efficiently manage the water supply.
