GAIL Mangalore Petrochemicals Ltd (GMPL) has been given till December 1 by the District Minister, to resolve employment issues, failing which action will be initiated against GMPL.
A meeting on employment of MSEZ Project Displaced Families (PDF’s) in GMPL was chaired by District Minister Dinesh Gundurao at a virtual meeting
The meeting elaborately discussed the continuation of employment of PDF in GMPL, and that it is an obligation which needs to be adhered to by GMPL. It is a state government’s commitment given to the land losers as part of the land acquisition, which cannot be denied on the grounds of PSU recruitment requirements.
The meeting also clarified that other PSUs like MRPL and ISPRL have recruited the PDF’s without any selection criteria, stated a release. The meeting was attended by MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, MLA Umanath Kotian, Dakshina Kannada District in-charge Secretary LK Atheeq, MSEZ Development Commissioner P Hema Latha, Deputy Commissioner MP Mullai Muhilan including CEO GMPL, CEO, MSEZL, KIADB and officials from the Industries Department and representatives of PDF employees.
