The Highgrounds police in Bengaluru have arrested five individuals involved in a ₹1.9 crore land scam, where an Andhra businessman was deceived with the promise of selling him land in a movie-style heist. The accused have been identified as Sanjay Srinivas, Loknathchari, Prabhakara Reddy, Rajesh, and Polvin Ravi Kumar from Kengeri. The accused, led by Sanjay, posed as real estate agents and targeted businessmen from outside the state interested in purchasing land. They introduced the Andhra businessman, Sivakumar, to the scheme, promising him 2 acres of land at a low price in Pura Taluk. Sivakumar paid ₹1.9 crore in cash and stayed at a luxury hotel.Subsequently, Sanjay and his accomplices met Sivakumar at the hotel, then lured him into two separate cars. While en route to K.R. Pura, the accused stopped the car, asked Sivakumar to fetch water from a shop, and absconded with the bag of money. Distressed, Sivakumar reported the incident to his friend Radhakrishna and returned to the hotel. The stolen money belonged to Radhakrishna, who had brought relevant documents from Guntur and filed a complaint with the police.
